Olga Cabrera cresceu entre farinha, açúcar e lenha. Sua mãe tinha uma banca no mercado e nesse ambiente entrou na cozinha aos 13 anos, preparando comida para os empregados da mãe. Por responsabilidade e necessidade, aos 17 já vendia comida para sustentar a família. “A única coisa que sabia fazer era cozinhar." Diz ela. E pouco a pouco, a sua cozinha afetiva e influenciada pelas mulheres trabalhadoras imersas no mundo da culinária foi ganhando notoriedade.
Olga Cabrera grew up among flour, sugar and firewood. Her mother had a stall in the market and in this environment she entered the kitchen at the age of 13, preparing food for her mother's servants. Out of responsibility and necessity, at 17 she was already selling food to support her family. “The only thing she knew how to do was cook," she says. And little by little, her affective cuisine, influenced by working women immersed in the culinary world, gained notoriety.
